Hi, I’m Christy,

I’m an entrepreneur who turned years of trial, error and experimentation into a practical guide for building real side income online.

When I decided to stay home with my kids 10+ years ago, I also stepped away from using my business degree in any traditional sense. Like many families, we needed extra income and I started searching for ways to contribute financially without giving up the flexibility that staying home required.

That search led me down every side hustle rabbit hole you can imagine.

How This Started (And Why It Took So Long to Click)

I didn’t find success quickly.

For years, I jumped from one idea to the next — affiliate marketing, Etsy shops, content creation, even opening my own store. Every time someone online talked about a new side hustle, I wanted to understand it.

So I did what I know best.
I researched.
I tested.
I built it.
I proved to myself I could do it.

And then I moved on to the next thing.

At the time, it felt like failure. Looking back, it was education.

I was learning how platforms work, how traffic converts, how trust is built, and why some income streams last while others burn out.

Where My Business Background Fits In

Although my actual degree is in accounting, my interest was always marketing. I actually started college as a marketing major — and only switched later after everyone convinced me that accounting was the only way I would make money. My husband laughs because I can’t even do basic math in my head.

When I stepped away from a traditional career, it felt like all of that education might go to waste and I would forever be looking at all of my student loan debt with regrets.

Eventually, it clicked:
I could combine what I learned in school with what I was learning in real life.

Instead of approaching side hustles as isolated ideas, I started looking at them as systems — traffic sources, monetization models and long-term assets. I started thinking more in terms of building a brand versus trying to build many different, unrelated income streams.

That shift changed everything.

What I’ve Spent the Last Decade Testing

Over the past 10+ years, I’ve experimented with:

  • Affiliate marketing across blogs, Pinterest, and social platforms
  • SEO-driven content and long-term traffic strategies
  • Website Ads
  • Facebook and YouTube monetization
  • Amazon Associates and Amazon Influencer programs
  • UGC creation and creator platforms
  • Social media content creation for TikTok, Facebook, IG and Threads
  • Reselling thrift finds online and at in-person markets
  • Creating handmade and print-on-demand products to sell on Etsy
  • Publishing with Amazon KDP

And probably more that I am forgetting or not admitting to…

Some things worked faster than others.
Some only worked after I stopped treating them like one-off hustles and started connecting them together.

That’s the perspective I teach from — not theory, not hype, but my actual lived experimentation.

Why Not Sell a Course?

I don’t want the years I spent learning, testing, and failing to go to waste.

Most people package this information into expensive courses. I chose a different path. If you are looking to earn more money, chances are you are trying not to spend the money you have. And I can relate — this blog, as well as my original IG content, actually started out focusing on budgeting and trying to spend less.

In fact, most if not all of what I learned I taught myself by piecing together all of those mailing list opt-ins and “free training” that lead to sales funnels. I would use those as a starting point to dive deeper into the vaguely described steps by reading blogs and watching YouTube videos. I spent so much time gathering information because I literally couldn’t afford to risk buying any courses and not have a guaranteed immediate income stream after.

I share what I’ve learned openly — through this blog, YouTube, social content and community so anyone looking into a side hustle I’ve tried can start with clarity instead of confusion.

If I can help you avoid months (or years) of spinning your wheels and trying to piece together information, that matters to me.

My Approach to Side Hustles

It took me a long time to really nail down my actual plan for how to go about side hustles. After much trial and error, I have found what I think is the most important.

Everything here applies to income streams built exclusively online as well as physical small businesses.

I don’t believe in doing everything at once.
I also don’t believe in waiting until you feel “ready.”

What works is:

  • Learning one platform or one business deeply before expanding
  • Building trust or a loyal customer base before chasing scale
  • Connecting income streams so one leads naturally into the next

That’s how side hustles actually turn into sustainable income systems.

Who This Is For

My content is for you if:

  • You are just getting started with a side hustle
  • You are looking for ideas that can bring in extra income (or possibly replace your full-time income)
  • You’ve tried a few side hustles but nothing stuck
  • You feel like you’re always starting over
  • You want realistic income strategies that fit real life
  • You value sustainability over viral moments

Working With Brands

My audience values education, transparency, and trust — and I approach brand partnerships the same way. I collaborate with trusted brands through blog content, social media posts and YouTube sponsorships, with a focus on long-term value rather than one-off promotion. I only recommend products I believe in and will benefit my audience, followers and subscribers.

Connect With Me

Beyond this blog, I run a Skool community called Side Hustle Studio where side hustlers can connect, learn, and build without pressure or upsells.

Everything I share — here and there — is centered around one goal:

Helping you turn experimentation into income systems that actually last.
